In 1985, a dear friend was murdered as he transported a suspect to jail.

Since that time, the need for security barrier screens has become more vivid to John Niehaus. Joining the Spearfish Police Department in 1986, John constructed cages for their vehicles. The Department still uses the original 1/2 cages.

In 1998, John started Custom Cage and has been building cages ever since.

Our web site has been redesigned to make it easier for the viewer to navigate around our site. The navigation links are on the left. The web site may have changed, but our product is still the same!

We build what we consider to be the best single prisoner transport cages on the market. Custom Cages are patented by the manufacture in design and concept.
